Architectural metalwork and sculpture, gates, balustrades, handrails, arches and details

I have been designing and making architectural work for 15 years, for private clients, companies and local authorities. Using the versatility of traditional hot forgework it is possible to create subtle and interesting architectural detail, following in a tradition that goes back to the middle ages, while keeping the result fresh and contemporary.

This set of gates was designed and installed in a Cheshire Manor House of the Tudor period.

Following consultation with the client, certain details from the building were chosen to be echoed in the gate design (see below).

The floral detail was to include honeysuckle and wisteria.

All the detail in these gates were hand made at Mill Forge.

The gates were installed and fitted with an automation and video entry system. The overall height of the gates is 3m with an open span of 3.3m. A second set using the same design scaled down was made for the rear of the property.
